Lambretta strip and rebuild.

What would you say was a fair price for completely stripping a Lambretta scooter, full body and engine, and rebuilding it, not counting the cost of parts, just for labour?

Re: Fitting a 22mm carb to a series 2

I used a TV/2 manifold and swappped the bushing in the SH2/22 for a TV/2 type (available from Dell'orto UK). As the curvature of the TV/2 manifold (and LI/2) is different to the S3 type it also means you won't have to trim your cylinder cowl for it to fit. Yes, the two manifolds are different lengt...

Re: Fitting a 22mm carb to a series 2

No don't think so, I think the Jet 200 hose is taller but wouldn't solve this problem. It's down to the manifold being shorter for a 22mm. Thanks anyway

Fitting a 22mm carb to a series 2

Help needed. I've never come across this problem before. Li 125 S2 fitted with a 175 top end. 22mm carb and manifold fitted, along with a GP air hose. Engine back in and the air hose is a good 3/4" away from the carb mouth. Too much to stretch the hose without kinking it and restricting air flo...

Best top end kit?

Hi, have a standard Lambretta GP200. Looking for a nice reliable top end kit. Not sure which way to go. Standard 22mm carb or go for a 200/225 and replace the carb for something bigger. I have a Scootopia clubman type exhaust which I would like to keep. Anyone got any suggestions on which top end. W...

Re: SIL 200 bad starting when hot??

Tried three different carbs on it, still the same problem. Engine is completely standard, but the top end was removed some time ago, basically for a check up, and there were some light heat seizure marks on the piston then. Been hard to start pretty much ever since then

Re: SIL 200 bad starting when hot??

Yes, that is good advice, but the spitback is excessive, in my opinion it shouldn't be throwing out that much fuel in the first place. What would cause so much fuel to be forced out of the carb? I know for certain it's not a sticky float

SIL 200 bad starting when hot??

Opinions on this one guys. Standard SIL 200 engine, starts ok when cold. As soon as it gets hot, it's a ba**tard to start. Checked the usuals. Tried three different carbs, including a brand new Scootopia one. Checked choke cable fitment. Air filter etc. Seems to like spitting plenty of petrol out. I...
