Re: Stainless or plated fixings?

Depends on what look you are going for. Stainless can polish out nice with out too much upkeep. Also, stainless fixings like to gall unless lubricated and can be a pain if they get stuck. Iron/steel likes to rust unless plated. I've run them both and it comes down to the type of bike I'm building. R...

Re: Borgo Asso piston? On an original tv175

Borgo is normal.

Always nice to be the first one back in since it left the factory.

Re: SX 200 Disc pads hydraulic conversion

I'd put the thick pad on the "static" side, this way you get the maximum amount of adjustment out of it.

Re: GT186 manifold - carb fouling engine mount

The GT manifolds are symmetrical but that doesn't mean they fit properly when rotated around. The general advice is fit them the way there are designed for. The TM24 is popular in USA but other than some reports on the jetting I don't know how they went about clearance issues, the first manifolds d...

Re: GT186 manifold - carb fouling engine mount

I did this years ago. The plan was to have a new manifold cast but I never got around to it.

it worked pretty well and only slightly kicked the air boot out when using an air box.

Re: Nov Scootering - Vespa Twin

Thanks for putting the Bonneville article in.

The trip was a wild experience and we are going back next year (if I can rebuild my RB by then).

Re: Varitronic flywheel thread differences

Sounds like a rolled thread on the new flywheel. If you have a thread file you might be able to carefully clean up the internal thread on the flywheel. At least look them over carefully under a magnifier to spot the problem.

Re: RB20 long stroke

I run a 62/116 crank in my RB200. Its ported to 130 trans / 190 exhaust, with a Franspeed race pipe, 30mm flat slide Delly, af close ratio 4speed box and 17 degrees static ignition. It was dyno’d earlier this year at 28bhp and I think 21 ft/lb torque with this set-up - had a 34mm delly on initially...

RB20 long stroke

I have a 62mm crank on the shelf and just happened to kill the one in my RB20. Is it possible to stroke this kit (with the correct 116 rod of course)? I'd think it should be okay but just haven't seen anyone do it yet.

Re: SCOOTOPIA 185 KIT, ANY GOOD ?

It looks nice in the photo but I think it’s still really new so not many on the road yet. If you run it with a 22 carb and stock pipe I suspect it will feel like a stock 200. What do you run on your mugello?
