So to re-cap 'A' grade pistons have the slackest fit in microns compared with B, C, and D grades which have a progressively tighter fit. i.e you can use a 'B' grade in a slightly worn 'A' grade barrel and 'C' grade piston in a worn 'B' grade barrel etc But not an 'A' grade piston in a 'B' grade barr...

I did request an 'A' grade piston to compliment my 'A' grade barrel, but unfortunately they were out of stock on 'A' grades. Not noticably, I usually put in 500ml. I drained it out into a seperate tub. When I get chance I will put this into old g/box oil bottle and see if if any has been lostbristolmod wrote:generally if the D/S seal has gone, the smoke will be white and smell bleedin' awful.

I haven't smelt the exhaust
Not white smoke but clouds of blue smoke.
I haven't put too much 2 stroke oil in mix either, before someone states this.
Gear box oil dosen't smell of petrol, but as I say light green in colour and frothy

Symptoms........
Smokey exhaust, oily plug, when covering/blocking exhaust at tickover dosen't cut out (JL exhaust badly leaking anyhow) rev's didn't increase when draining gearbox oil but oil was frothy and light green in colour

measured steels today, they are inbetween 1.51mm and 1.58mm casing is LI Springs are all straight, level and ground. Put everything back today with slightly weaker springs. Clutch still a bit stiff to use. Hardly having any play in clutch lever when selecting gear, jumping forward slightly :flaming:...
