Have you had a look at the port timings calculator on Lambretta images archive webpage

Have you put the spiders side by side to see if theres any visible difference ? Are the steel plates free in the new spider ? Also check the spring locating holes , do they line up with pressure plate properly as some dont

Anyone have any ideas where l may get a Slide Insert guide for the above carb ? Tried Eurocarb AF chisel speed but no luck ?

Firstly readspeed recommend Putoline SAE 90 , its says on the bottle special lambretta gear oil and l have found this to be by far the best gear oil , also make sure u give the plates a good soak in the oil preferably over nite , and ruff the steels also . What springs are u using ?

MB scooters do one in stainless , but if your fuel tap is not straight they will break . Guess your using a big carb on the left hand side
