Re: GP stalls when clutch released
Thanks again for advice, I took clutch plates out & soaked in new gear oil for a week, popped back in with the new gear oil, she's fine now. So a seized clutch it was due to no use for some considerable time. "Should have gone to ATF" I use it in all motors that have pass through my h...

Re: Super Unleaded
Well....we can't just give up, can we? If a Lambretta is used infrequently, then many of us have to consider the risk of fuel degradation. If you live close to an airfield that will sell you AvGas, then buying by the large gerry can's full may be the best option. If that's not practicable: Long stor...

Re: Why?????,this is doing my head in.....
We all know how we get tricked into looking in the wrong direction with these problems, so here goes..... How old is the fuel? Apparently, we might get six months maximum use of current petrol if we're lucky! That is also dependent on what the fuel is stored in..... Water absorption from the surroun...

Re: Stand feet pins coming out.
Thanks, will give that a go. Although most of the pins I used were stainless and I wondered if that was OK, I did try some normal steel ones and they fell out too! Wonder why people sell the stainless pins !! Sent from my SM-G985F using Tapatalk Why do 'people' sell anything to Lambretta enthusiast...

Re: Super Unleaded
Interesting answers, none of which answer my question. Anybody?? No, you won't need to change the plug grade. With a higher grade of fuel, you ought to get better performance & even advance the ignition from current setting for a perkier engine. That would assume you know what you are doing, wi...

Re: Stand feet pins coming out.
The last couple of SIII stands that I fitted rubber feet to, instead of roll pins, used M5 SHCS (Socket Head Cap Screws) just wound in. They are as if they are 'made for the job!' The heads pull themselves into the counterbores in the rubber, even though there is no female thread to engage with. I c...

Re: Super Unleaded
I use esso supreme, many don't know that although it states 5% ethanol on the pump, there is no ethanol in there supreme fuel and they have no plan's to add it in the future.!! Whoaah! It depends whereabouts you are in the UK. This quotation from Esso clarifies availability: "The majority of u...

Re: Jetex SH2/22 Float Sticking?
As essexgp said, float needles are available. Not all Viton tipped are red. I bought a couple from Scootopia for VHB's (the same) which are black & they are Viton. Bump starting will 'unstick' the float/float needle enabling starting, so you have kind of proved your theory. Same as once running,...
