Re: Mount

I had a casing mount decide to come out of it's own accord. No real damage done as I was wearing brown corduroys @ the time. (It was in the 70's) It was pressed back in far too easily, so was tapped & a big bolt fitted. We'd have probably used Loctite if the same were to occur today. That all le...

Re: 62mm stroke crank

Lambretta tuning being all about compromise within the standard geometry, a longer stroke crankshaft will only fit if: The big end outside diameter has been reduced compared to the norm (I have a Terry Shepherd (RIP) item waiting to be tried) although Tameni 62 mm's may clear; The housing bore is in...

Re: lambretta frame what does it weigh ?

This is a real 'scientific' response :P Using some decades old Boots scales we found in a skip, a full frame weighs 39 lb. The cutdown that I have has narrowed legshield support struts, a 4" lowered headstock, all of the rear board support struts but it has been cut behind the seat in a vee, po...

Re: Melted float needle tip

The float needle is common to the SH & VHB range that most of us will be familiar with. Simply due to the age of all the genuine Dell'Orto's that I have, then I will fit replacement tipped float needles, even though the 'deterioration' of nitrile in modern fuels is not as drastic (yet) as some s...

Re: Thinking Aloud

These days, there are more & more manufacturers supplying Lambretta specific oversize pistons. However, unless there is something 'special' about them (apart from the 'special' high price) then my default choice is to select a piston intended for a decent motorcycle engine producer. The TS185 is...

Re: Krober rev counter

Makes no difference, but I thought my Krober was LZ13, but turns out to be an LZ16 as I discovered tonight

I investigated how I might fit an interior light to it, unless they can do a Braille screen.......

Re: Krober rev counter

If you are trying to get your scoot looking proper retro, then Krober were around in the 70's (if not before) so fit the bill. In fact, you can buy alternative dial faces for them as I did for mine. Matter of opinion, but whiteish/silver looks swish to my old eyes.... If not too concerned, Scitsu ar...

Re: Krober rev counter

This is the fitting information for the LZ13: https://www.hpi.be/downloads/LZ13ENG.pdf I've had mine for years, though I choose to run points ignition for reliability  If you are running electronic, that might be the problem. Here's the web page for HPI, though the two later models are news to ...
