Re: Winter upgrade

IMO there are methods by which spit back may be controlled. The fundamental issue remains with piston ported engines the amount of inlet duration which can be improved by decreasing it by altering the piston length &/or the stroke &/or the conrod. They are not always practicable solutions, b...

Re: Winter upgrade

Well, I did a search on posting images and without trawling through everything, there was the infamous lengthy BLOA saga, so I'm not quite sure what you are referring to . I have not posted any images whatsoever. I simply posted links to YT videos which I thought may be helpful to other scooterists...

However, I did come across this on You Tube from Piston Ported in the states,( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1L8x6UCgwMI ) which is helpful except he doesn't explain how he came cross his measuremen...

I'm not aware of a link. I have an image of a piston I modified (for the type of reed valve manifold you have) in Dropbox, but given up trying to get it to transfer....Sorry

Re: Winter upgrade

Reference the crankcase cover gasket, CamLam used to sell them in about 2 mm, - I think - but there is also this: https://www.lambrettaupgrades.co.uk/apps/webstore/products/show/6507383 it's the kind of thing we tend to buy with extras as spares, so worth shopping around IMHO. As for the spit back, ...

Re: SmartCarb

My thoughts.... The Americans do tend to pioneer engineering modifications for two stroke carburettors & there have been some good results. The EI & Lectron ranges were conceived in the USA & features of them resulted in Mikuni & Keihin adopting key points. Currently, i notice the sm...
