Side Panel - Pre Painting Help Please

Once a side panel has been stripped and primed, is it best to fit the panel back onto the frame properly, including fitting the buffers onto the frame, before a final skim of filler is applied to sort out dings etc.? I'm thinking that it would be best to get the panel under tension before the skim, ...

Re: PX200 Starter Motor Not Working

9 times out of ten, it"s the battery. even though it says fully charged. Well after using my car battery via jump leads, it is the battery, despite my oxford charger saying it was fully charged. It had enough power to operate the horn, which was enough to convince me all was well, but obviousl...

Re: PX200 Starter Motor Not Working

Have you tried putting 12v from a battery straight to the starter motor to see if it spins? A job for tomorrow! Is it just a simple matter of running a wire from the battery positive to the terminal on the motor, or do I also need to run an earth from the battery to the motor (bottom bracket - whic...

Re: PX200 Starter Motor Not Working

^^Thanks for the reply. The battery is only about 18 months old and it's been on an oxford trickle charger for the year so I don't think it's the battery? I've also tried jumping from my car battery with the same result - buzzing relay. I've also checked all the terminals/leads/earths etc., but I'll...

Re: PX200 Starter Motor Not Working

^^Thanks for your reply. I think the clutch switch may be okay as when I don't pull the lever in the relay doesn't buzz, but when I do it does buzz as though the circuit is being completed. I think it must be a jammed starter motor or a faulty the safety interlock unit (behind the horn cover)? Are t...

PX200 Starter Motor Not Working

Got my very low mileage 2003 PX200 out of the garage after standing for a year and the starter motor won't work (was working perfectly okay when I last used it). The battery is full charged and I have replaced the starter relay which was buzzing when the started button was pushed - the new one does ...

Re: my £30 gp200 electronic

It certainly is an amazing find and nice to see you've used as much as possible of the original in its restoration. Interesting about the lack of battery tray, seemingly there were some late ones brought in that didn't have a tray, but most GPs (as opposed to DLs) seem to have them. Did it have the ...

Re: my £30 gp200 electronic

Great find and nice resto. What parts did you manage to re-use and what is the engine spec? Any more pics of both the before and after?
