Thank you all chaps much appreciated - going to give it go.Thinking I will go for 0.4 and see how it goes - hopefully a happy compromise as at present running 2 X 0.25.

I cut my own for my GT186 using a sheet of Polini carbon fibre (comes in varying thicknesses) using a surgical scalpel. Carbon sheet isn't the easiest stuff to cut but I eventually got there. I was looking to create a more durable reed petal over the stock items and it worked... not sure it was any...

cutting/making your own reed petals
Thinking about getting a sheet of reed valve plate to make my own.At present I run my reeds doubled up 0.25 X 2 to beef them up a bit,anyway thinking it may be another option (and possibly a little cheaper) to make my own.Couple of questions: 1) Any tips on the cutting? tape,scissors,hobby knife? 2)...

This bloke is very good, had one off him a few years ago, LCGB member also I think, Barney.
