Re: Can you pick out the noise?

If it is coming from the top end, it could be piston-slap. Which means the bore is too big for the piston (so the re-bore might not have been done within the tolerance of that specific piston).

Re: smoking end can

Sound like the padding in the can has a ton of oil in it and it is burning off. Drill out those rivets, replace the padding. Or you could try riding the hell out of it on the motorway for a half-hour and hope it all burns off.

Re: wobblin

Try tightening your front axle nuts...

OR just go with the wobble and start singing and dancing to Easy Lover by Phil Collins and Philip Bailey. Either one may work.

Either way, when you replace your layshaft, you should replace the layshaft needl...

Re: MBD race-tour remade layshaft

How much are they? and do they make any diffrence when selecting gears or is it just a case of they look nice and shiney MB stylie... :o They are ~ 80 gbp. I actually noticed that my gearbox operation was smoother and quieter (although the reduced noise was probably due to a re-shim). What was also...

MBD race-tour remade layshaft

Just wanted to say that I installed one of the MBD race-tour remade layshafts. The craftsmanship on this layshaft is amazing.

The layshaft fit perfect, and the gearbox shifts great.

has anyone been in contact w/ Jem Booth lately?

I have sent him a few emails in the weeks past, and have not seen a response yet.

I need some keys! :)
