Re: Help please - Problem with original 6v electronic.

:bouncing: I got the power!! :bouncing: Followed Adams advice and rewired the LT coil, now sparking through the red box. Thanks for everyone's input. Richard YEAH BABY!!! Well done for sticking with it and sorting it out :D I'm glad to have helped but you did the work, so a big pat on the back for ...

Re: Discussion on Electronic Stators

Colin, Cool, thanks for the edit. You'll notice that I wrapped a thin layer of masking tape around the coils before fitting them, which may or may not be mentioned in Tony Mc's JetSet feature (can't remember) but it is something I've noted on some factory assembled stators. I have also traced 2 faul...

Re: Discussion on Electronic Stators

^... Colin, thanks for posting the photos. I've had zero chance to upload them to a host site, etc. so do appreciate you posting them. However, would it be rude of me to point out that photo 2 seems to have been posted twice? That said, it took me 20 minutes of playing 'spot the difference' before I...

Re: Help please - Problem with original 6v electronic.

As the LT for an original 6V stator will be the thinner core spec', same as the Vespa + 80s AF stators, there is a good chance that the LT fitted as a replacement is half decent anyway. As such, and especially considering the work to remove and replace the one that's on there, I'd leave it as it is ...

Re: Help please - Problem with original 6v electronic.

^... yep, Jims is 'the kiddie'! :) Thanks for responding to confirm that non-connected coils function in isolation and the polarity of adjacent coils is of no real influence. In light of this, why do you thin that the original 6V stators have the LT coil mounted at 180 degrees to the others? Another...

Re: Discussion on Electronic Stators

Ahhh, what you are looking into was pretty much the excellent Tony Mc feature (input from M.S. on here as J1MS... or something like that) that was published in JetSet many years ago, which dealt with rewinding a 12V electronic stator. I can't remember if the feature was for an AC or DC output but it...

Re: Help please - Problem with original 6v electronic.

^... I understand this for the connected lighting coils but have noted that isolated coils on standard 6V stators will follow an alternating pattern too. Should the polarity follow an alternating pattern regardless of whether the coils are connected/wired together or are merely next to each other on...

Re: Help please - Problem with original 6v electronic.

Adam Swapped green and white with no success, are you saying you have suitable stators to show the wiring configuration? Would be good to see some pics if you could, I'm capable of re soldering a few wires if I know where they are going. Also some time ago Steve Rowe asked you if you had any spare ...
