This picture was posted on another forum. Someone put the bearing in with both sides sealed. BeAring is pregreased. As advertised this grease is supposed to last for the design life of the bearing. So why do we remove them? Is this not an improvement over original and relying on case oil getting int...

The issue is the air box restricting airflow no? That’s a relatively big bore, carb, and exhaust. Correspondingly needs good airflow. I’d try a rubber elbow with a foam filter on it, removing the air box to make room. See how your jetting goes then.

Yes. It’s why I’m asking if the tameni crank is shimmed on the big end. It does not seem to have a lot of side to side movement, but I hope to hear from someone who knows

Hi, I measured the big end float when the crank was on my bench. Was 0.5mm

That is a big end shimmed, yes?

Or no, I need to shim the little end

And then again sometimes an oddball pops up. A scooter came up for sale locally advertised as SX 200. But on the pics it looked like a bitsa. It was actually a TV 200 (or GT 200 in UK terms). At $6k AUD, I thought it was a great buy even though it had been a bit bastardised. Probably needed about $...
