Re: Rb piston options

That’s interesting. I’ll have to have a look into those, Harry Barlow did mention he uses a dt250 piston made by the same manufacturer as his pro porting ones that he uses on his steel liner ts1 conversions that only cost about £60, I might go and measure that up too, the meteor piston is a good sho...

Re: Rb piston options

About 4000 miles on that piston, I spoke to Harry Barlow about it and he said there’s a design flaw on the windows that makes them prone to crack. He does his own reinforced pro porting version of it but that’s not cheap either and I’d go for the wossner but I’m running low on money so looking for a...

Re: Rb piston options

Was that an rb? After the mess my monza was in I’d rather have a heavy strong piston haha

Rb piston options

After destroying my monza (asso piston lost its skirt and Jammed up doing 80) I’ve acquired a used rb22 setup the only problem being its got an asso piston and after my recent mishap I’ve lost faith in them. Question is has anybody used the Ron moss ts1 piston in an rb? I’ve heard nothing but good t...

Re: Monza Gearing 46 x 19

I’ve been running a monza for years and the best combo I’ve had is 16/46 on an li150 gearbox with a tsr pipe and 30mm dellorto

Re: Monza rebuild options?

Mine was running at 26hp before the piston failure on a tsr exhaust and 30mm carb with an li150 box, that was on a 58/107 crank, I’m upping it to 60 to hopefully gain a bit more torque and be able to rev out fully all the time rather than just on still days, it’s a good all rounder at the moment bei...

Re: Monza rebuild options?

Well I’m hoping for a bit more than that as I’ve maxed it at just over 90 on gps as it stands. Being the v1 it apparently had better porting to start with and Harry says It doesn’t need tuning but I know there’s room for improvement in there as it struggles to full Rev out unless the conditions are ...

Re: Monza rebuild options?

I’m getting Harry Barlow to do it as he only lives down the road from me. there isn’t any option other than steel liner due to the damage caused when the piston skirt fell to bits, I was just looking for any other input from people with the same cylinder

Re: Monza rebuild options?

Right ok I’ll maybe look into a longer rod then. I suppose it can’t do any harm. What are people’s thoughts on port layouts. Having it steel lined gives me a blank canvas to start with and seeing it’s a v1 monza which I’m told is a tuners wet dream due to all the meat on the barrel I wanna make the ...
