Re: GP stalls when clutch released

i would try bump starting in a safe area with lots of spare road, then once started, pull the clutch with engine revving a bit & brake. If that doesn't free off the plates, there's something else wrong.

Re: Li150 Strange Starting Issue - Vaccuum Fuel Seal? Compression Seal?

Hey Folks, Arggg, I had issues again starting it this morning. So frustrating. Yesterday it fired up 2nd kick, NO PROBLEMS at all. This morning, I kicked a bunch of times and nothing. I pulled the plug, put it back (the usual immediate fix) and it STILL would not start. Yet it has strong bright spa...

Re: Li150 Strange Starting Issue - Vaccuum Fuel Seal? Compression Seal?

Curious. Less oil makes you rich “richer” right? The ideal air to fuel (stoiciometric) ratio is about 14.7:1, although we tend to be richer with our two strokes. Extra oil equates to less pure fuel in the mix. The consequences are a leaner mix. Many seasoned scooterists that have rebuilt their top ...

Re: Li150 Strange Starting Issue - Vaccuum Fuel Seal? Compression Seal?

Apart from SH2/22 & some internals being mentioned, we have no assurance of the capability of the carburettor to supply fuel efficiently. The OEM Dell'Orto SH range functioned extremely well on the engines they were intended for & in latter years, many Lambretta owners have 'reverted' to the...

Re: Li150 Strange Starting Issue - Vaccuum Fuel Seal? Compression Seal?

Just to add to my earlier suggestion (still relevant) I think your carburettor settings are not causing the issue Float sticking aside, personally, I have had issues with NGK plugs & reverted to Champion. My understanding is that NGK get counterfeited. Perhaps an N4 might be worth a try. The ot...

Re: What causes the kick start arm to start rubbing?

What tends to get forgotten about clutches is that as they wear, the springs will continue to force the whole assembly toward the cover. This not only means the centre gets closer to the cam, thereby requiring slackening of the cable, but the top plate, bedding into the circlip will also move a Nat'...

Re: Li150 Strange Starting Issue - Vaccuum Fuel Seal? Compression Seal?

is the SH2/22 a genuine Dell'Orto or a copy? I know very little about the copies, nor am I implying that they are neither good or bad, but I'd guess the float is sticking a little to cause fuel starvation. A little vibration (as with all super smooth Lambrettas....) is enough to stop sticking once t...

Re: Running Downhill

Basically, yes. Insufficient fuel (& oil therefore) will be delivered to an engine run on pre-mix whilst revving quite highly yet not under load/downhill. With the carburettor slide closed, the petroil delivery will be so minimal, the top end will be likely to fail. If you want to roll downhill,...

Re: Rear hub nut

Hi, The old nut is a pike nut, with unlimited thread. I just don’t understand. I bought it from a quality dealer.Where everything is British made I'm not sure why you don't understand that some dealers will sell inferior goods, to the point of them being dangerous, whilst making claims to the quali...
