are all new drum brake shoes crap??

im beating my head against a wall trying to get new front drum brakes to lock up at speeds over 10 mph. old drum brakes used to be lethal!! fitted modern shoes to my jet 200 and they just dont seem to be as "grabby", tried all the usual reverse pull and clutch lever instead of brake lever ...

Re: Rustoration, Restoring Paint Work

ive just "conserved" an ochre jet 200 and bits of it were almost terminal. it looks very good now; 1. strip it down and work with the pieces before reassembly. 2.get the original uv light damaged paint replicated/copied in an aerosol and half litre. 3. get clear laquer in a tin and some go...

Re: old feature scoots

there are still afew Macca paint jobs around our area in garages belonging to guys who did the rallies in the 80's, many of which feature in photos in magazines of the time. A lot of these were laid up after the 125cc law was changed and CBT came in. some of the guys i drink with still claim they'll...

Re: Jet colour

I ride an original British Jet 200 1974 model in yellow ochre. 90% of the paintwork is original factory finish. this paint is not like the yellow ochre of the GP/DL. its similar but looks like someone added some black. its like a dirty ochre. added to this when i parked it next to a slightly later J...

Lambretta rubber stand feet

one aspect of lambrettas that doesnt get a real mention is the stands. a well adjusted stand is the difference between rolling backwards with a scraping noise on a mild slope and coming back to your lammy exactly where you left it. fitted some parts show rubber feet to my Jet and lo and behold 3 wee...
