Re: BGM 225 problems
As said it was built by an experienced engine builder, I'm unsure of the exact details of the timing.....but I would have thought achieving 40mph in second would rule out timing?

BGM 225 problems
Hi I recently fitted the bgm 225 kit with long stroke bgm crank Phbl 25mm carb with remote foam filter, auto advance module, and ancillotti pipe. I can get up to about 40 mph in second gear but it runs out of puff at about 55mph in top. The next thing i plan to try is removing the filter, I don't ex...

Re: REMADE ORIGINAL DISCBRAKES : ITALIAN OR SCOOTRS TYPE ?
As mentioned in my response above, there seems to be a lot of 'lost motion' on my actuator due to the circlip groove being poorly machined although the lever does actually return as it should. I'm experimenting with some packing shims behind the actuator to take up the slack. I don't think mine has...

Re: REMADE ORIGINAL DISCBRAKES : ITALIAN OR SCOOTRS TYPE ?
I have read that scootopia do a very good actuator no experiance of it myself just passing on info Yes they are the ones I was referring to, which I think may help with the return issue but not so sure about the physical movement of the actuator (the reason the brake doesn't operate properly). I lo...

Re: REMADE ORIGINAL DISCBRAKES : ITALIAN OR SCOOTRS TYPE ?
I have just fitted the scootrs cable operated disc and I am struggling to get it working to an acceptable level.... 1. I have fitted a scooter restorations heavy duty disc brake cable and a reverse pull set up. 2. I complained about the weedy spring on the actuator supplied with the brake and new im...

carb leaking out of overflow drilling
Hi Trying to get the Cometa back on the road after a long lay up, just got it ready for MOT and now the carb is leaking out of the overflow drilling. I haven't renewed the float valve, for a red tipped one, is this the likely cause or maybe the float? If so do the ones (valve and float) for Spaco fi...
