Just an idea but happened to me , check the banjo bolts as i once spent days trying to fill a rear disc i had fluid in master cylinder and fluid at the bleed nipple but the brake wouldn't work in the ended i stripped it down and found the banjo bolt had abit of plastic from the pipe trapped in it an...

Check the copper washers and banjo bolts and looking at the photo you have over filled the master cylinder , there has to be room for the displaced fluid to expand into the master cylinder.

This engine has run well on the Fesco exhaust , then ran p155 poor when i put on the Sterling and has ran the best on the JL3 i have now. To be honest i wouldn't have known any differance if i hadn't had bought the 47 tooth crown wheel for the box i thought i had in it.
