I like this kit and I also like the Rimini 5-speed, and see no reason why this wouldn't be a very nice combination :)

Re: Lambretta Flywheel Woodruff key sheared in half

Woodruff key plays no part in holding the flywheel to the crank's taper, the only reason for the woodruff key is for providing a constant point of aliginment, which in turn allows for timing to be fixed. To shear a woodruff key the flywheel has had to move on the taper, which should not be able to h...

^... be interesting to see/know what people are doing to the standard kit. Considering that 20+ years of TS1 development is still in full progress, I've no doubt that there will be lots of potential for further working of the Avanti too. IMO the Avanti is a really good road use kit in 'off the shelf...

Re: Ron Moss - Avanti TT3 - Cylinder Kit - Review & Test....

^... totally true... but you've highlighted what I've said about where you choose to start and where you end. What you've suggested is starting with less advance so that more of the range is at the same (or less than) as static would have been. It doesn't actually matter where you start/finish, the ...

Re: Ron Moss - Avanti TT3 - Cylinder Kit - Review & Test....

"Augusto", yes, this will change jetting considerably over what is needed for the same motor fitted with static timing. What has cracked me up about recent features on advance retard ignitions is that statement that a good advance/retard ignition will allow a motor to run cooler throughout...

Re: jetting for : mugello225V4 / ancillotti sito / phb28 del

Compression on Mugellos is pretty high but they come from the same tuning house that tends to work with auto advance/retard ignitions too, meaning that high compression is not so much of an issue... subject to correct timing and jetting. To get away with the standard Mugello head and compression rat...

Re: 225 options

Standard 200 rebored to 70mm with a head to suit and you'll pull SX200 gearing all day, every day, 2 up and/or luggage. Other than that, knock the timing back to 19 degrees (or less depending on compression ratio), upjet the standard carb, use GP spec' standard exhaust or clubman, and you'll have a ...

Re: Shortest PHBH Carb Manifold?

^... yep, remember the days when everyone used the solid mount PHBHs, with TwoFour even selling them as 'the' Lambretta carb replacement! I've never had an issue with a solid mount on a road bike and I certainly like the additional panel clearance that getting rid of the rubber mount gives. That sai...

Re: Shortest PHBH Carb Manifold?

The easiest way I have found is to use a solid mount Malossi CDC manifold and lathe it down to a rubber mount type to whatever length you want. ^... Exactly what I tend to do. I've done this to 3 for myself and 2 for a French mate (on here) so that there is plenty of room to fit a rubber mount PHBH...
