Re: One for the Electrical Gurus

I tried to be clever and adjust my timing on the external pick up with the motor running and nearly lost a finger! My external Adv/Rtd pick up works well, had to richen the jetting on the pilot and the needle which is what I thought I would have to do. Might have to richer on the main as well but no...

Re: Gori GP50 or JL Snail ?

Ok guys lets not get carried away now. Firstly I must have Been under the mistaken belief that they all had a 25mm tail pipe, secondly SULK must have thought that there was an option but in actual fact it's only the ts1 version that has a 25mm tail pipe, it's there in black and white in Donny's lin...

Re: Cone steering bearing upgrade.

The top bearing is the one which takes all the braking force and its a good upgrade, the taper bearings themselves are about 25 quid.

I have em but I'm sick of spending money just now! Maybe next year.

Re: How I got a completely stuck mag housing off.

I've chased the bolts round in the past with a long centre punch type tool through the cylinder hole. Heat as well.

Usually after a turn you can do them with a screw driver.

Re: Scootopia fuel taps??

I got two, the first one stripped as I was trying to stop it dripping, They sent me another. I then used the second one and was very careful knowing the threads were poor quality, I left it a little loose and it kept dripping, I nipped it up to try and stop the leak and again it stripped even though...

There probably was meant to be a smiley on the end. I don't know who Darrell Taylor is. I dont tend to ask much on forums as you never know what response you get, I had a mate who used to live on these things and chat s**t all day but we all knew it was where Lambrettas went to die as he couldn't ev...

Re: Bgm Clubman

.....they are not peaky,it's the motor it goes on that makes it peaky. I wouldn't call the Avanti Peaky :? No,was talking in general. The Avanti does have some guts to it. Considering it isn't into the meat of the power it holds 4th gear very well. The power does not drop, it just does not get on t...

Re: Bgm Clubman

I've just put a GP50 on an Avanti and it won't pull 5.0 gearing in top. It's strong in third 58 mph on gps.

I'm wondering wether to try a 14t front sprocket or a BGM pipe.

Wish this test was done already!

Third gear TV175?

Just built a new motor for the season and every time I select third gear the dogs slip around 2 or 3 times until it settles, I'm thinking I need a new third gear as the other 3 gears are fine. Do you agree? or is it worth trying a new spring first? Im not leathering it, I'm only just being gentle as...
