i think you need the early one, thats what i used, i dunno when the canged the piston tho, i know the wiseco ones use the same part number from 71-81 also the later one has a narrower skirt and sometimes doesnt completely cover the inlet, not a prob with a reed.

what you would need to make dc power would be a commutator which is would be time comsuming and not cost viable, even then you get pulsing dc, far simpler to use a vespa regulator/rectifyer

well i just used some plasticine and it worked very well indeed just gotta lightly oil the piston and head so it dont stick, then measure it, mine came out at 1.2 mm so no messing about

ive just tried the solder route as thats what i had, but the lead free solder did not work as i couldnt get the piston past tdc to measure it, i now have invested in some plasticine and when i have finished with it i will make a plasticine scooter

if you have a spare clutch arm it can be straightened somewhat and used as a front brake arm, it just gives you more leverage, no doubt alot on here wont like the idea just as the reverse pull is dodgy

ive had this before but with all types of plugs, but only when warm, turned out the flywheel had lost magnetism

mmm 4 stroke, i think the grin factor of the two stroke (pound for pound) is much more fun, take for example gsxr1100 or rg500 i know what id rather have, the powerband is fun its what makes me grin
