Re: Dellorto Si 24/24 help please.

Just ordered a richer idle Martin, I,v just read your post about you flywheel side oil seal leaking, did you have to buy a flywheel holding tool and puller to change it or is the another way of getting the flywheel off. Just replied on my thread! What size idle have you purchased? Hope it sorts you...

Re: P200e running issues when engine hot!

Great news. Did you check the flywheel for movement. Seal usually goes when there is movement on the crank Yes, I checked for movement Lambretta67.There was a very small amount, I would say approx 1mm each way (if that). I have no idea what it should be, but it certainly felt tight, and did not giv...

Re: P200e running issues when engine hot!

Martin, did you have to buy flywheel holding tool and puller to change the seal, or did you find another way. I bought a flywheel puller to remove flywheel, and managed without a holding tool, (just put socket and rachet on and gave rachet a sharp tap and nut loosened) but when refitting, I decided...

Re: Dellorto Si 24/24 help please.

Have you had a go at adjusting your mixture screw? This affects up to 1/4 throttle! How is your plug colour? Too light = too lean, dark and sooty = too rich!
My P200e is stock, and I am running 48/ 160 idle, BE3 mixer, and 116 main, and do not have a problem with lean running!

Re: P200e running issues when engine hot!

Update.. Took flywheel off earlier this week, and sure enough, inside of housing splattered in oil, and seal very wet! Fitted new seal, and all good again! Been out this morning and done a few miles with no problems. Thanks again all, for help and advice. Now to try and get the lammie sorted!! Cheer...

Re: poor running issues

Feel your pain Johnny! Having very similar issues with my Special! Was running OK(ish), but needed new clutch, so did that and treated it a 42mm AF Clubman, hoping it would give me an extra mph or so. Had standard exhaust on before, which although I had washed through with caustic soda a few times, ...

Lambretta67 wrote: Sun Jul 15, 2018 3:16 pm Easy job. Just prize out old seal with a screw driver GENTLY and push new seal in. Check your flywheel for up & down & side to side movement. To much & your bearings might be worn
Great! Will report back in due course!!

Re: P200e running issues when engine hot!

In light of both of your experiences, think I will change flywheel seal first, then take it from there! Never had much to do with Vespa mechanics, but have read that it is possible to change flywheel seal with engine in situ. Is this so, and if so , much of a job?
