Re: torque needed tv 3
been scratching my head about this,so here we go i am presuming its got a tv175 box in it as its a muggy 185 with standard sprockets the final drive ratio is 4.84 to 1 and with a larger rear spocket of 47 teeth the ration changes to 4.91 to one. i do belive the higher ratio gives lower top speed and...

Re: torque needed tv 3
forget what i said about the 46 tooth basket, i think thats the standard one, so your 47 is better, a smaller front spocket would increase your pulling power and lower your top speed a bit, a clubman should improve tourque, but im not sure it would be a good match as you have bridged ports, i know t...

Re: torque needed tv 3
hi, it might be worth lowering the gearing slightly, a smaller clutch basket like a 46, if you check out mb developments mark recomends this for the tv as the gearing is a little high. more torque from your engine can be improved with a more tourquey exhaust, optimising your squish impoves power at ...

Re: Shearing woodruffs
hi, the woodruff key is only to locate the flywheel while you torque up the nut, the taper on the crank and flywheel then holds them together, usual cause is a loose nut or a bad taper, i woul recomend using some fine lapping paste/grinding paste and lap the flywheel onto the crank until you get a d...

Re: Plug chop and plug colour help please
hi, i would say that your running very weak, either jetting is too small, or an air leak, or fuel starvation caused by fuel tap, what does it ride like, do the revs take ages to die down when you close the throttle ?

Re: rear hub removal problem
i made my own , i used the puller that you already have, half an old wheel rim and some bits of angle iron and welded them together, its not pretty but bolts to the hub with 4 nuts, tighten up the middle bolt and its off, no damage to the hub or paint. i also welded a bit on the side sticking out so...

Re: water cooled twin
went in the garage after tea, fitted my oil tank, bled it, then a short road test, the clutch is so easy to use, its even softer than my rb, ive got a little bit of free play, no drag and the bite point is about halfway out with the lever, im very happy. gearchange is much better as well, though the...
