This can often be the cable and not the speedo. Check it's located right at both ends, in particular on the hub, with the olive grabbing the outer in the right place, and keeping the cable in the hub. I've an R1 shock on my Muggy which measures 30cms. Just seen an e-bay ad for an R6 saying it's 31cms.

The forks are the whole thing____imagine the shape of a fork :D However, part 84 on this diagram which is the bearing track, and the cover below do come off. If you're going to have the forks blasted and powder coated, you don't actually need to remove them as long as the bearing track is smooth and...

I've just bought the carb plus various jets, needles, throttle cable, cable choke adjuster from Martin (Corrado) on this site. A decent price too. I know MB do the 25PHBL manifold that will fit and, I presume, the elbow is just a standard GP one.
