Re: polishing paintwork

I'd agree with johnie's advice although personnally I don't have a problem using 1200 with soap. Use circular strokes with the wet & dry but with the cutting compound use stright strokes. If you go down to a finer cutting compund asper johnies advice then polish at 90 degrees to the courser stro...

Re: SR pistons

how well do these work for a round-towner? or to rephrase my question; of the pistons that SR offer which would be the pick for a round-towner? I'm doing the same, just in the process of assembling a 185 SR engine for my London based scoot (Shocky's Jet). I bought a barrel from SR for £30 a couple...

Re: Gearbox problems

Just wondering if you have the 2nd gear in the wrong way round. There isn't actually a right or wrong way for fitting them, it's just that they must all be the same way. One side has grove and the other is plain. I think if you had 2 plain side together they would tend to stick tohether and make it ...

Re: Broquet fuel catalyst - anyone used em

I don't know if the Flich system is the same but the one from MB sounds like the device that was being promoted back in the 70s/80s, I remember mention back then that the technology eminated from WW2. I think the pellets are supposed to release tin and Practical Classics magazine tried it along with...

Re: Its happening all again :( Fuse STILL blowing??

Continuity testing isn't going to find your fault as bad joints/broken wires don't blow fuses. What you should be doing is insulation testing, trying to find a low resistance to earth where there shouldn't be. This what I was alluding to on your other thread on the lcgb forum Ash when I suggested h...

Re: Legshield Mounted Spotlights

Am contemplating having fitted 1 x spotlight / driving light to one of the sidepanels of my Jet 200   I take it you meant the legsheilds ;) ;) I think the only rearmount spotlights which you can buy new are the Lucas Pathfinders which are in fact reproduction copies. I did manage to f...

Re: Indian gear ratios

Thanks for all your replies but on even closer inspection I can see that the bearing surface on the inner cluster bearing is damaged so unless anyone has a good spare I'll be looking for something else
