that looks bad alan I think full strip down and reset everything that endplates had it

well if it had the proper gap at setup something has moved up putting pressure on the top spacer and making the gouge as the enplate is in a fixed position it can not move down for the lip its fixed too

have you checked youre rear nut is tight as the layshaft could have moved

you need one that will reach lb120 or 161 nm for rear wheel nut the 1/2 inch one is from lb20 tolb240
