Re: R1 Shock Snapped !
Snails - also try to get hold of Lloyds bushes, shown in the Absolutely Scooters picture. The steel inserts in these are longer so would allow some movement of the urethane bushes - its not ideal but its the best idea so far as i can see it... Shocky - yeah good idea. I feel that the current convers...

Re: My RI Shock snapped tonight
as has been posted before, the link below are my experiences after delving abit deeper. http://scooterotica.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3547 The current conversions do not allow for any rotational stress to be absorbed, which in turn acts on the central rod. In ours cases to the point of failu...

Re: My RI Shock snapped tonight
David, glad to hear you Ok.
Im convinced the conversions, by engineering principles, are wrong.

Re: piston shims ~ needed ? or potential hazard ?
convince him to go for an MEC crank .........Gp one at that.
Then he can fit a wider magside bearing, better tapered flywheel (just convert the boss you have), no piston shims etc etc PLUS should he fancy a better kit then he's already for it crankwise. Defo VFM in my eyes.

Re: R1 Shock Snapped !
My Abarth has nylon bushes that slip into the shock and allow rotational movement. Martin - you saying that your nylon bushes rotate within the shock mount and around your frame / engine mounting lugs....... this cannot be good can it? Also how is this possible surely the top hats are compressed sl...

Re: R1 Shock Snapped !
Jaime - yes i too thought these were the answer but maybe they aren't?.................. As I and others have stated these have been used for a number of yrs now, so is this just unlucky or the tip of an iceberg? Either way, ptfe, brass or urethane are too solid a product for the job, and unfortunat...
