Re: Sealed bearing on crankcase side?

If you’re having that level of seal problems then you need to address how you’re building your motor.

The seal on that bearing doesn’t have a spring in it like a normal seal. It’s essentially a drag inducing dust cover and a waste of time to run it.

Nope, this problem is at the beginning of the kick stroke.

I think that’s part of it but it feels more like an alignment/chain/gear type problem. Will get on it today. It’s been too hot to mess with anything, 105f yesterday

Re: Series 2 hard to kick over

I’ve had this happen on 3 builds now and not sure why. https://www.scooterotica.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=40287&p=310831&hilit=Hard+kick+start#p310831 The most recent one is a Gori 200. I’ve lowered the compression to 120psi and it still fights me on starting. It feels like the kick...

I’ve had a couple like that. Just pop the back off and have a look at how it’s set up.

Re: Series 2 hard to kick over

It's not just about compression ratio. As already pointed out, it's the lever, or rather the ratio of engine revolutions versus distance of lever travel. I've done a couple of builds like this recently and used a bigger front sprocket to resolve it. On LI150 with scootopia kits, a 16 tooth sprocket...

Re: Series 2 hard to kick over

I have a Casa 185 on a series 1,too much compression,it seems like it wont kick up at times and I have to put all my weight (16 stones)on the kickstart. I have a similar problem with my 150 series 2 that was given a stage 4 175 conversion. At times I have to my whole weight on the kickstart to get ...

Re: RB20 fit

For anyone that’s interested, we were able to fix it by opening up the bottom of the stud hole with a carbide burr. Took almost nothing out and it freed up the binding point off the stud. It looks like the finish pass in the machine process might not have gone all the way through the cylinder but th...
