I've got a mid 70's Serveta here that has a GP key switch and an Indian LI handle bar switch. Currently the battery feeds into the junction box and the horn, brake light and t.s. are hot all the time. Essentially, packing the cylinder will give power at higer rpm's, loosening up a few more horses. where as packing the head allows power at lower rpm's giving more torque and better acceleration.

I have just bought a VBB with standard 150 engine. Only had chance to kick it over and seems to run fine. I'm thinking of upping the power by kitting it, I believe Pinasco do a 2port 177 kit, also upgrade the carb to 24 and upgrade exhaust, change bearings and seals. My dilemma is would it be worth...

what year is yr P2? I've converted a couple and the trick has been getting the headlight sorted. On a '79 I ended up using a small relay to actuate the light when the key swith is on. Trailtech do a reg/rec with a built in relay that switches the circuit on when it sees voltage charging the battery...

there was a write up in scootering some years ago (4-5?.) someone may be along to corroborate. Andy did the article, as i recall he seemed to like the set up, but rated it under a disc conversion.
