Just rediscovered this thread, it has been a long time in gestation. Great work, some very subtle modern touches. It's looking really good.
Cheers

Re: Imola : Loss of compression
Just ran out to the shed in my "lunch break" (I work from home on Tuesdays). The flywheel cover has been off for a while I've been experimenting (should have come here first). I can hold the flywheel still with my hand while kicking it over! 100% sure woodruff key is ok and flywheel in the...

Re: Imola : Loss of compression
Flywheel turns, horn sounds with my finger on the horn button when I kick. I see a good spark with the plug held against the barrel.
Will try the soap test first before opening the chain case.

Re: Imola : Loss of compression
That sounds very possible and would explain why both top ends showed the same problem. The scoot had been standing in a garage for 18 months before the last ride when it lost compression. I'll have a look at the clutch this evening and report back.

Re: Imola : Loss of compression
Indeed, on the up stroke everything else should be out of the picture. That is why I was so puzzled when I put the old (working) barrel, piston and head back on and it did the same thing (but maybe that was for other reasons and misleading). Will try with new head and base gaskets and investigate an...

Imola : Loss of compression
Hello Folks I hope you can help with a long story. Several years ago I rebuilt an Li 125 engine with a second hand Imola kit bought from a friend. The engine ran well and I did a couple of rallies with it (Cobblesoul in France) and many local ride outs. https://scontent-a-ams.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xa...

My Lambretta Series 1
Hello Folks This is my Series 1 Lambretta. Bought it with no engine from a friend, johnd on here who needed some quick cash a couple of years ago. I fitted my trusty Mugello engine and it’s been going fine since then. https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xpa1/t1.0-9/1013523_101516794808...

Re: Fitting BGM Engine Mounts
Thanks for the advice. Got it in this afternoon using a mix of all techniques. https://scontent-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpf1/t1.0-9/10391004_10152493964104043_2912167349072002532_n.jpg Put some copper slip on the remaining part to go in. Fitting BGM Engine Mounts
Hello Folks I'm fitting some new BGM Engine Mounts. I have the correct tool and was able to remove the original narrow mounts with no problem. Fitting the new BGM ones is a different story. I was able to get the right hand mount in with some struggle but the left has 9mm to go with no sign of it mov...
