Fit the hub "as mentioned" and also fit the clutch sprocket and spider and tighten as the mainshaft can lock up when the endplate is tightened. You should now be able to turn the spider if the gearbox and endplate have enonugh clearance. If it's now turning when you have done this then ret...

how do you use them? excuse my ignorance... :oops: It's a bracket (that holds a dial gauge) that is rested against the gasket face while the probe that extends from the gauge gives a reading both sprockets are checked and the clutch is then shimmed togive a reading (within tolerance) with reference...

Paul at scooter restorations sold them dont know who else !
They can be fiddley to use as you get the hang of them. But I find them more accurate than a steel bar/rule and digital verniers.

Pull green wire from cdi to loom see if that cures it. Check alignment of pick up and trigger magnets, use some tippex. Make sure al connections are sound at the stator (soldered) and the terminals to the cdi. Also Check the resistance from the engine case back to the cdi earth wire if it's too high...

From memory there are small castings that extend into the sprocket side of the casing which is where the original screw threads are drilled and tapped into, if you tried drilling the case with four new threads elsewhere, then you wouldn't have as much metal as is available with the original pressure...

Is the exhaust you have fitted blowing anywhere, either u-pipe or flange, if you cover the end of the tailpipe does the engine go quiet then stall at tick over, or does it carry on running blowing smoke from elsewhere?

On one of mine the padding retaining metal gauze had come loose along with some padding. But it usually is the baffle if it hasn't already come loose.

I think the twin tail pipe look is done for the "Shiny Shiny must have" effect, other than all out performance, IMO.
