you can drill those out and tap to M8, keeping the drill straight, not a lot of room to wander off course
[and then you may need to enlarge the holes on the side casing of course]

and it's useful to coat the kickstart shaft and clutch top plate with engineers blue before reassembly. then if there is any rubbing you can see exactly where to remove some metal but don't be tempted to take too much from the kickstart shaft, as they can break there, and it's always the ones that h...

Sef, LD catalux lights are loads cheaper, but also a little smaller...

the further in, the less distance to measure betweeen the two points.
just make sure that the piston is not around TDC, you don't want to be winding the end of the tool into the crown...

take a picture of the switch, if it's ScootRS generic type I can tell you what the continuity results should be
but it could be that the ignition is fooked, and you are fighting against the unknown...
