Re: t5 running lean

Matt, I think you are definately on the right track with the air leak. If you cant find anything else it might be the clutch side oil seal. Check the gear oil level. If it is empty fill it and see if it then smokes more than a pikey's truck! :D

Re: si carbs

I have not seen or heard a bad word about them. The one in mine has been in at least 3000 miles. Others I have done must be more by now. Mines a highly tuned Polini barrel so, I only put it in to try it and it went so well I don't want to take it out. With the 22 It's now pulling just over 8000 rpm ...

Re: si carbs

Where did you hear that? Do you have yours or anyone else's picture of a worn one? If SIP and Worb5 both say they fit and they don't there must be plenty of examples out there :?
I could understand with the 21 tooth though! :D

Re: si carbs

The DRT one is straight cut teeth! The standard COSA2 Piaggio 22 tooth fits the 65 tooth ring gear. I think the 22 tooth is originally from a PX150

Re: si carbs

With or without the T5 4th, I have always fitted the 22 tooth clutch in any Malossi 210. They are tuned for power at the top of the rev range, at the expense of the torque. I have never fitted the 21 tooth with the 65, that would be a bit too slack for my liking. With the 22 tooth gear the same 210 ...

Re: si carbs

Well if you are not going to change from the 210 kit then at least gear it to go properly. Once it is set up right that Scorpion exhaust will run really well on your set up. And you will be able to cruise at any speed, or just wide open :D

Re: si carbs

The 210 kit even just bolted on without anything special done is a higher rpm kit. If you both wanted a cruiser or commuter you should have got a Polini 207, as it has far more torque than the Malossi. As you do both have the Malossi 210 you need to lower the gearing to let the Malossi high rpm do w...

Re: si carbs

Why you not just buy the 22 tooth clutch? You could have it done in an hour!

You can still fit the T5 4th later on as well and have both :D

Re: si carbs

As far as I know the 22 tooth clutch is from a PX150 and can be used with any of the ring gears (65, 67or 68 tooth).

There is a bit more story on the SIP page

Re: si carbs

It doesnt matter either way really. The PX200 4th gear is only about 1.5 mph longer. If you do already have a T5 4th and together with the 22 tooth clutch then the gearing will be perfect. Even with PX200 4th it will still be so much better. A decent expansion type exhaust (JL, Revolver, etc.) will ...
