Re: up gearing
Sounds like your PX125 is is perfect working order  I think most guys say the same thing. Changing the gearing is certainly not the answer, it just needs more torque. Before saying too much and getting it all wrong, which year is your 125? Do you want to keep it as a 125? What have you already ...

Re: Cold weather effect on performance??????
Reading this just reminds us all how delicate 2 stroke jetting is, takes forever to get right and then goes and changes with the weather :D As already said, the closer you get to perfect jetting, the closer you get to a hole in the piston when the weather turns colder! To get the jetting right it is...

Re: P200 Big carb or not?
An SI24/24 is fine on a low tune 210. Once you have tuned the 210 so the 24/24 needs a main jet bigger than a 140 then you need to think about a big carb. If your 210 is only running a 135 main jet then putting a big carb on this engine won't make any differance.

Re: Polini longstroke 221cc top end
I think the Polini 207 with 60mm crank is just about the perfect touring set up. If you put the 1.5 mm packer on the base gasket and adjust with a few extra thin gaskets to get the piston sitting 0.5mm from the top of the barrel, then the porting is a bit longer on the transfers and it will rev a li...

Re: warped malossi piston - why?
If it was running weak anyway then, yes! A loose exhaust will make it run even weaker

Re: SIP Cosa Clutch - Is this correct?
I have no reason to doubt it. Here is the next paragraph too; he primary driven gear cog in the 200cc motor with 65 teeth can be combined with 21 or 22 toothed cogs, along with the original item with 23 teeth. The most popular clutch gear conversion cog is the version with 22 teeth, so enabling an i...

At least there is no sign of pinking That certainly is a bad one. Barrel ok?
In the first picture before the crown was cleaned it looks like its running really very lean. The plug must have been grey.

Re: One for the tuners/engine builders Parma kit shopping li
Interesting shopping list! If it were me I would forget the reeds unless you just have to have them 'cos you like the sound they make. I would be tuning it just for speed, so I would put a 1kg flywheel, 21 tooth clutch, 60mm properly cut (non reed)crank. Match the transfers and open the inlet. Sort ...

Re: Engine Build
In a powerful scoot like this and for mainly city work I would put a P2 cosa clutch with banded basket and some stronger XL springs. And I would port it to suit a 21 tooth clutch. If acceleration is more important for you than economy then swap the 26 carb for a 28. At the heart of any tuning projec...

Re: drt 24/24 carb
What do you mean by bigger float? heavier (lower petrol level)? or bigger and more floaty (higher petrol level)? You can buy all sorts for most carbs, as it has so much affect on the jetting! On the average carb even, full flat, out wide open, max rpm, differential pressure accross a typical main je...
