Re: Engine tune consistency.
This is an interesting point, I was really surprised how increadably subtle changes between different engines make a very significant difference in perfomance. So much so that adjustment of a set up is unescapable. For example, GT barrels are technically something like a stage 6-7 stage of tune and ...

Re: Tillotson carbs ?
I used Tillotsons on my first national 100cc group c kart when I was a kid. In the day they were pretty good but have been surpassed now. They have no float bowl so instead they run a pressurised fuel delivery chamber which is supplied by the pump. There is a "pop off" valve arrangement in...

Re: LTH Reed
The manifold I made was with a 30mm CDC manifold welded to a 8mm plate that was profiled around a runner reed valve (PM performance version). It was all carved out to accommodate the open petals then fillet welded and trimed again. It looked really neat, took time but didn't cost a fortune £55 tops...

Re: LTH Reed
ive had some interesting and useful information from this post(apart from not knowing the price of the LTH reed manifold?anyone?)..its just got me thinking why people dont take this route with iron barrels,it would cure the spit back with big carbs, boost performance and be a cheap as chips! You wou...

Re: Chainsaw Crakcase pressure testing gauge...
I think you might find this is for checking the carb "pop off" pressures to check the fuel delivery chamber needle valve seats correctly, spring tension and correct building of carb etc. I used these on the Tillotson carbs I used to mess around with on karts and the odd scooter. These carb...

Re: GT 206 kicks out more fuel than goes in
It will be the induction side for sure. Check that the carb jets have not worked loose and the choke is seating correctly. Other than that it will probably be the reed petal directly in front of the boost port which is a simple change. When putting it back together make sure you use a clean spark pl...

Re: GT SEVEN PLATE CLUTCH
I'm just running the ones I have at the moment. It is a bit of a water shed which product to do next. Gearbox, clutch, big and small alloy GT with liner, new cylinder head. All costs money, all takes time. A production version of the clutch should be about £550 but that is kind of accadenmic if it ...

Re: GT SEVEN PLATE CLUTCH
It now has alloy plates machined both sides and is 200gms lighter. In the next week I'll be sending out the new plates and instructions to people who have them FOC. There were also some improvemets that I've included on the latest CAD executables on the web site (in the big water cooled engine assem...

Re: GT Kit Resurrected In Alloy?
The head is planned to be recessed but perhaps not in the way you would expect. The problem with recessed heads is that once the barrel is bored over size the head is effectively scrapped because of the gap between the new cylinder wall and the old head profile. The plane is to recess the head on th...

Re: how do i get a gt186 but as a 240cc
Hi, The 206 GT kits all went on small block casings. There were no big block castings designed or made. I made some rough estimations on clearences based on what I knew from the small blocks and took a view that it would be very close to call. Essentially, the outside pattern of a big block barrel w...
