honestly i don't see what the real difference is really. we've installed both types on a tire machine and they are about the same amount of effort. it's a two man job right now. you need the extra set of hands to prevent the rim from slipping on the machine. the sip one is actually a bit more diffic...

the keyway is part of the center boss piece. if that piece isn't installed in the correct position or the holes to secure that center piece aren't drilled in the correct position you get what you describe. you can elongate the stator plate holes to get closer but make no mistake, it is the flywheel ...

you need to check that the keyway on the flywheel center is in the correct position.

Because the needle is the rev counter, speedo is the digital display and the bike is not moving.

KBA changed the gauge of steel used at some point so it required a slightly larger diameter clamp. Not SLJs fault. He may have adjusted the inner diameter of his design tom accomodate this. It's pretty easy to f@@k up the float when reassembling the float bowl. Check that you haven't bent the tab or anything like that.
