And just to add, with the GP speedo and above LED, there is fantasic light comming thru where the odometer is just not thru where the speed is. One idea I had, is to replace the needle for one made of a clear plastic with a red top (just look at any modern car) so that the clear plastic catches the ...

I used the above type LED in a series 3 speedo and it worked great..

They are pretty much the "yar-yar's" of LED technology, burn your retinars out with a single flash . But back to the problem, maybe the plastic back is too dense to pass light?
