But for the Varitronic LT coil, is there any fixes that can be done? Unfortunately the coils on these are moulded on to the stator so can't be replaced. Yes you can use the 3 hole type. When activated all 3 positions are connected, so use any of the sockets.

I read online last night that some flywheels have positive /negative pickup triggers and some have negative /positive depending on where the magnets are positioned. Where did you read that, as I've never heard that before?? I believe there are problems with alignment/ misfiring on the AF lightweigh...

I know that once every revolution the flywheel magnet fingers create a positive pulse followed by a null then a negative pulse which triggers the thyristor to switch and discharge the voltage stored in the capacitor in the CDI but thats about it The pick up produces several pos and neg pulses durin...
