Re: Original GP Electronics

The resistance wire is fitted internally in the loom, so it's appearance would be no different to a standard one.

Re: Original GP Electronics

No, I'm talking about a piece of resistance wire inserted into the loom green of original electronics, the ignition was killed by going through this resistance to earth not a dead short.

Anyone know the value of the resistance built into the green cut out wire in the loom of Innocenti electronics?

Re: Lighting Problems No Front Or Rear Lights,

Firstly check for power on the loom brown in the headset. From here power should enter the ignition switch, and when the key is in the 3rd position, come out on the orange wire. Next it goes into the main/dip switch and, depending on its position, exit on the red or blue to the headlight. If you hav...

Re: Motoplat race ignition

I assume that when he states "the stator must output 30v" he is measuring it unloaded ,ie direct from the stator without it being connected to the reg. I believe even Indian ones are capable of this.

Re: Lighting Problems No Front Or Rear Lights,

If it was working at first I would recheck the connections in the headset to see if any have come loose. The speedo light missing will have no affect on the other lights, unless it's wire was shorting to earth.

Re: What am i missing here......

It may be J reg but it will still say 1978 on the logbook, and it won't be tax exempt.

Re: no spark saga!

Hi John, was the stator you replaced a BGM one? I'm sure I've read somewhere about pick up alignment issues between AF flywheels and BGM stators. I think it was on the LCUSA site, perhaps MarkH on here may know.

Re: What am i missing here......

Agree it's probably the J reg that's sold it. But there's no law to stop anyone putting an older plate on a newer machine, it's the other way round you can't do.
