Re: Lambretta Workshops In The Northwest.

Apologies for high jacking the thread but, Cav, this is the house the Smolens used to live in. It is a well known house just up from the shop near Victoria Park. http://scoot.net/gallery/bbs/C1F24CFF-C92D-4A31-BA06-61AB6600DE61.jpeg http://scoot.net/gallery/bbs/BEE702C0-76BF-4702-96EC-9378E5D50472.j...

Hi Paul, Yep it's me. I tried sending you a PM via this forum a while back but it's stuck in my outbox for some reason. Hope you are going well buddy. Tough times over there just now.
Sorry, I hadn’t seen your message. I have just replied.

Re: Lambretta Workshops In The Northwest.

And Marriotts Motorcycles in Birkenhead, where one of the brothers was Scooter friendly, but it was mostly frequented by Greasers (Rockers). A tough and densely populated part of town where lots of Skinheads were always around. Interactions at Marriotts were often 'interesting' to say the least Yep...

Re: Lambretta Workshops In The Northwest.

This post got me thinking and reminiscing. Who on here (from the North West) remembers Lizzie Smolenz the Rock Ferry Vespa dealers, Turners of Merseyside (see above re Barry Turner), Deeside Scooters in Queensferry, The dealership (sorry can't recall the official name) in the centre of Chester. Jee...

Re: Effect of humidity and air temperature on carb performance

I have never recovered financially from the amount I spent on fuel and jets trying to get this carb set up. Never ever again. Dell’orto and Mikuni ever since.

Re: yamaha conrod questions

cheers will have a look at the ktm rod if i change to a 30mm deck height piston. the ke 175d rod has a 15mm wide big end so can be used in standard width crank webs without machining them, and no shims, although not sure about what bearings are available in that width, my rb crank webs measure 12.1mm...

Re: yamaha conrod questions

Thank you 10 inch Terror..... Scooterdude, you are also correct. It is KTM200. I have a feeling there was a (Kawasaki) KE175 (?) rod that proved to be alright. I run a KE175 110 Conrod in my TS1 and have done for several years (I really need to get a new one at next rebuild). I have had no i...

Re: Disc brake windows.

I have only ever used old, possibly original, ones. They are pliable to a degree. I just put the smaller end in first and then the outer just clicks in.

Re: Krober rev counter

Mine is a C31. I have a green wire which is the lamp, a blue which is the earth and the tachometer feed, a grey wire, to the ignition.

It was refurbished several years ago so I suspect the wiring colours are random.

Re: GT186 manifold - carb fouling engine mount

I love the TM24, as it is such a responsive little carb, and wanted it on the GT186. I have another GT186 with 115 conrod and 8mm packer. Does anyone think this would allow it to clear the mount? I agree. It's a fantastic little carb, and far superior to the PHBL. An 8mm packer might give it suffic...
