i hade to file down the red section:

check as well the shim that is in the picture. there should be no play inbetween casing and shim.

had the same problem last week...

the piston bush was too high...arround 1 or 2mm!!!
the piston goes back completly but the bush rubs against the gears.

another thing was, that the bronze bush of the kickstart shaft was not deep enough in itÂ´s seat.

first check if the kickstart shaft is completly driven in. There should be no play on the inside and outside of the shaft/casing. Maybe use a different shim washer.
Also check the bush/sleeve of the kickstart piston.
...and maybe file down a bit of the sleeve.

Did anyone know how to fix one of these Gloveboxes from resurrection-scooters on a Series 3?
Where i have to drill the holes for the mounting brackets? front legshield?

i changed the wires and the carb (amal to jetex), sealed the exhaust....and voilÃ ! WORKS!

yes, i have this brown wire from the strator which i thought is for the red CDI plug. ...but did you had as well a proper spark with the incorrect wiring? then i guess that the correct wiring is: green -->CDI white -->CDI brown --> Regulator yellow -->CDI (into red) Rings are ok, arrow on piston poi...
