lighting and charging upgrade options
i'm looking into upgrading the lighting and charging system on my stock 64 Li 150S . Most of the threads and websites I've looked at are now very out of date and frankly there is so much out there that it is bewildering. What is the current practice in upgrading the electrics without being too radic...

Lambretta small block Port Maps
I tried my hand at producing a port map of my 200cc small block cylinder before fitting it and as it turned out quite well I thought that it might be useful to someone else. It could prove a useful starting point for porting other small block cylinders perhaps? I'd be interested to see your small bl...

scooter restorations have some Indian 175cc heads for sale in the clearance section for £15
Small blow holes are easy enough to fill with low temperature aluminium brazing rods ....if they are external to the spark plug they are not under compression. Make sure that the threads are ok though

Re: Small end shims.... Indian pistons
There shouldn't be any issues with shim flutter as the recommended gap is only 0.015mm . I presume the cutaways are to increase lubrication of the gudgeon pin. i would be more concerned with using a 3mm gap and allowing the piston to float on a 22.5mm extended needle roller bearing due to the natura...

Re: Small end shims.... Indian pistons
thanks for responding . the more I read about this the more this problem seems to be a common source of different opinion ...bit like 'which is the best gear oil '? there are quite a few threads on various forums but none seem to arrive at a definitive answer. I finally ended up where I should have...

Small end shims.... Indian pistons
Bit of a dilemma and I need some help. I am currently fitting a 200cc small block cylinder kit to a series 3 crankcase . I have fitted an aftermarket crank of unknown origins and I'm now not sure of how I should shim the small end . I have read through Stickys appendix but am still non the wi...

Re: Shims and things .
its usually 0.7 thick and it needs to go in or when you tighten the clutch nut it all locks up yes I know I need to fit a shim Gary I just couldn't understand the shim sizing in Sticky. It has to be a typo . I ordered a range of sizes from 0.6 to 1.2mm as they are only 90p each. ;) Then minutes lat...

Shims and things .
Could someone please clear up a small anomaly for me . I cannot find the original shim washer that I need to fit to the gear cluster beneath the clutch sprocket . Looking in Stickys 1st edition in the engine shim ID chart the 'gear cluster shims' lower shim and the top 'clutch sprocket' shims are sh...

Re: Endplate fixing studs
[quote=johnny650 post if you look at an endplate and measure it yourself with a venier gauge you'll see that the fixing holes are recessed by 8mm . ;) Stickys manual page 72 refers to the height of the nuts and mentions that you can use regular sized nuts because of this recess in the endplate. If ...
