Hi, had another go at trying to get to the bottom of my rattling sil gp 200 gear box on tickover ( also had this on Italian gearboxes over the years with the noise disappearing when clutch is pulled in) but still not solved it so I have conceded defeat, all parts good,no serious wear, gearbox shimme...

Sliding dog

Hi, just wondered , can the sliding dog / gear selector be removed & changed without taking out the layshaft ? I know it can be a bit of a faff to get the balls & spring back in but is it possible ? thanks for any info ;)

Hi, just been reading the excellent article in this month's scootering about engine mounts & one piece in particular got me thinking- it shows a mount fitted incorrectly & states that if this is the case it will be out of line with the other mount, my thought after reading this was in Sticky...

hi, hope this doesn't sound like a daft question but where abouts should the feeler gauges be placed on the endplate when measuring the endfloat on the large gear shim ? thanks for any info ;)

Hi, got a bit noisy gearbox when the scooter is on tick over which seems louder around the rear hub side , doesn't seem quite as bad with a bit of throttle, I've checked the 1st gear shim with some feeler gauges & it's within the tolerances, all the bearings & endplate bush are new,the gearb...

Hi , got out on my series 1 today because of the rare occurrence of nice weather :D & coming home I ended up with a flat tyre on the back, luckily I carry a spare & mini pump but I always have to let some air out of the spare in order to fit it because of panel handle bracket on the frame :r...

Well, the search goes on! thought I'd got a new lower fame cone bearing race sorted, ordered one from camlam which stated ld / early series 1 & when it arrived the inner sleeve was about 6mm longer than my original one which measures 14mm so obviously it won't fully fit all the way in because of...
