Having read the article myself, I thought I'd always done it wrongly, so decided to modify the route of the rear brake cable on my own SX (LH carburettor). Yes, the 'bobbin' (that I run an M5 tap through) is effectively the nut on top of the struts with the screw (best is an M5 socket cap screw) on the underside with a large plain M5 washer either side of the strut because of the slots.
