Much later found this picture of a Vespa two-cycle manual shift engine/transmission disassembled. Looks like a small displacement cylinder to me. One component seems to be missing...

Re: Gear cable adjustments on P200e
Is there slack movement back and forth that doesn't lead to a gear change? If not, it may just be where your gears are. If yes, then you might want to start with adjusting the cables, if the adjusters are at max then release the nipples, screw the adjusters in, pull the cables tight and tighten the...

Re: Realistic top speed on 1980 P200e
Good question. Need to take them off and see... although my faltering memory says speed was better without them.Muttley McLadd wrote:Is it much different without the screen and box on the back? They wont be helping.

Realistic top speed on 1980 P200e
I have seen specifications for the P200e stating a top speed of 65mph. One even said cruise at 65 top out at 75. On mine, 45mph is readily available, 50 with a bit of struggle, 55 after a long run on good level and straight road. 65 wants that straight road to have me going down hill. My P200e has 2...

Gear cable adjustments on P200e
Here are pictures showing the grip position on my P200e in first and fourth. Is this typical or excessive travel? If excessive travel is replacing both shift cables the prudent thing to do? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180618/f4d545be7fca0519f7729c0bdfada03e.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.co...

Emergency Repair Kit for the Road
Or if you prefer you may call it a “Get Me Back Home Kit”... What should be in such a kit for the P200e, for example? I have seen cable insides mentioned - Two gear shift cables One clutch cable One throttle cable One front brake cable One back brake cable Light bulbs - Headlight Tail/Brake light Tu...

Classic (two cycle manual transmission) Vespa kit...
Found this picture on the internet. It does not show the internals of the engine/transmission unit, but everything else seems displayed.

The Vespa on the trailer and the one towing both have headlights and handlebars reminiscent of the early years. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180524...

Re: Turn signals on P200e 12 volt USA edition...
Wondering if removing the paint from the spring and its bracket - which hold the top of the fender against the body - would allow me to eliminate the makeshift ground wire?

Rereading... is it the front pin (near floorboard) or the rear pin (near blinker light) which makes the ground connection for the blinker?dirtyhandslopez wrote:Check where the panel front pin goes in. That's ground and those contact areas get dirty sometimes.
