Re: jet 200

The set up on my Eibar Jet 200: GT200 kit, BGM clubman, and 28mm dellorto. Majority of my riding is around town so I was after mid range power band. At around 115 -120 kmph I run out of gearing on the standard gear box. Regular 4 plate clutch is fine. Changed front sprocket to go up one in teeth to ...

Re: Vespa air leak kit

Copper high temperature gasket on the threads, cut the fuel line down to minimum length to prevent air bubbles, and a new top end for the SI carb so needle and seat would close perfectly. After that problem solved. It was one or some combo of the above

Tip for getting stuck studs out.

Heated the case with yellow map gas. Then inverted a can of air duster upside down and sprayed that on the stud. It froze it. Huge temp differential. Put penetrating oil on at base. I was going to let sit for 24 hrs and then repeat, but I thought why not try it? I used a stud extractor that pinches ...

Re: Snake Head Carb tops

Only put on after you have jetting sorted. It's a pain to take it on and off. I had one cause a cable to fray as it bends it at a sharp angle. I pulled it off after a season

Re: Cylinder head refitting

You want the sanding surface to be perfectly flat. A simple solution is a piece of window glass or go to a local charity shop and buy a mirror. You can get spray adhesive at a hardware or craft store to attach the sand paper to the glass. . Use 320 grit sand paper or finer. Use irregular motion or a...

Re: Vespa air leak kit

For my vespa I think my exhaust stub pipe is not sealing tight against the cylinder. I sealed of the exhaust by clamping a rubber stopper in it. I took my carb off, cut a flat metal plate to seal the hole over the rotary pad, drilled a hole for a pipe through it, and cut a sheet of gasket for the bo...

Re: RE: Re: ScootRS TV175 S3, trying to decide what it's worth

I went to view one for sale. While back. Was a LI made to look like a GP 225!- weird!!! Lots of chrome bar work that had all turned to rust, although stored in a dry place. The owner was selling as when out riding the forks snapped at first bearing race. It was found they were about 90% rusted thro...

ScootRS TV175 S3, trying to decide what it's worth

I know someone who imported one. It was very pretty but just never ran right. I know enough now that it was probably an air leak. After a few disappointed riding seasons he gave up and bought a triumph. I know it's still sitting in the back of his garage. I'm wondering if I should make him an offer ...
