Diameter needs to be taken out to 63mm, following the profile of the new piston, then you really need to address the combustion chamber size to give a suitable compression ratio. I can't remember which fairly common text this theory is mentioned in but I've read it too. It may even be something scooter related; 60s tuning manual, Scootering tech feature, Webster's, etc.

I'm getting slightly confused by this... surely a steeper angle to line/direction of bore/piston travel means that the boost is aimed more at the opposite side of the bore, in this case the exhaust port? ^ okay, I've just looked at the photos and now see that you are measuring at 90 degrees to bore,...
