I bought the kit and a complete loom from them a few years ago. Still using the regulator, CDI and flywheel which have been fine. As long as it's non-detergent (ND) oil. I have some Briggs & Stratton 30 weight oil for the mower and it says it is a detergent oil.
You can use an API GL4 gear oil (75-80 or thereabouts) which may be better. Don't use GL5, it has additives that attack the yellow metal parts.

I suppose you are not too concerned about originality or you wouldn't be considering 10's. Pretty sure you can't 'convert' from a single-pin setup, why don't you just find a later case? Preferably one with a third port.
