Re: My Li150 S2

That looks very nice, best of luck with it. As of October last year mine is fully road legal, here's a quick video of the first engine start: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Cgsvt7M66Y The poor old standard 150 engine is terribly slow, probably not helped by running on the piston shown in the video...

Re: pk / pk fork conversion and wheels alignment?

I've fitted pk forks to a smallframe and there's no issues with alignment but you do need to deal with a higher front end. Sip do sell shortened forks (expensive) but a simple way is to add a spacer on the rear shock to raise the back end, but you may need to extend the stand. I have some pictures i...

Re: Smallblock Conversions

Ideally both, but of course it will have to be a compromise. The goal is for something suitable for longer distance riding.

Cranks

I was hoping to look at putting a crank with either 62mm stroke or perhaps 64mm (if no welding required?), but didn't realise how tricky they are to come by. Does anyone have any pointers on suppliers? I understand some case machining may be needed, which I'm fine with, but don't want to get in to w...

Re: Lost piston ring peg

Whilst these sort of reports are concerning (as I'm interested in the RT225/230 kit myself), I keep reminding myself that bad news always travels further & faster than good and for each person who's had a failure there'll hopefully be dozens who haven't. Surely all kits kill experience failures ...

Re: 305 engine

For me personally I'd want to base my engine on a original crankcase, be it Vespa or Lambretta. I'm not a purist by any means, but if you're changing the crankcase for a modern re-make/motorcycle/auto, you lose something. As I said, my opinion only, as for me a big part of the love I have for scoote...

Re: Registration.

Submitted a V55 a couple of weeks ago for a S2 1961 and got the V5C yesterday without any inspection needed. When submitting the V55 I did include more than needed to try and cover off any issues, such as Dating Cert & MOT (required), Insurance cover note (I rode the scooter to the MOT station s...

Anyone been running one of these kits for a while yet? Interested to hear how they are on the road & for distance.

Smallblock Conversions

Hello, Looking at options for my small block engine casing and wondered if there are any strong opinions either way on having them converted to large block spacing. Some months ago I asked Oiltek for pricing and I think it was around the £250 mark. I'm thinking that that could be around 10% of the o...
