Re: A good rear shocker choice that's adequate.

I've had mine for 2 years now and spring doesn't rotate, have you wound up the preload to max, you're just a little heavier than me, but
mine is wound up to max

Don't know about the carb but seems to me that your port timings may be out as piston shouldn't really be below level of exhaust port

Re: combustion chamber volume

to find the required combustion chamber volume use the formula CCV=CV/CR-1, CCV=combustion chamber volume, CV =cylinder volume, CR= compression ratio.
For yoursCCV=225/9.5-1, CCV=225/8.5, CCV= 26.47cc. Hope this helps

Move the end can bracket to the other side of the chaincase bracket and file or machine the bolt head down in thickness, cured it on mine

Re: Any one fitted an Acewell?

Won't fit in a series 3 hole as it's round, straight fit into a series 2. Doesn't foul the wheels in mine. You could use the supplied mounting bracket attached to a blanking plate in the headset

Re: Removing studs out of engine case

Get some long nuts made up same length as spacer then you can keep the studs in chaincase, attach bracket with bolts on other end, saves using screws in and out of alloy

Re: Any one fitted an Acewell?

Speedo runs from magnetic pick up on front wheel, cable runs down forks a la Lammy speedo. There is a tacho that works from windings around HT lead, It has two trip meters and an odometer, there is a fuel gauge if you've got one. Then there are idiot lights for dipped and main beam and indicators. I...
