Re: keihin jets

Right, I think that may be an old ScootRS one with a different ie longer atomiser, and shorter main. It's also possible it's an even cheaper copy ____does it have a plastic slide as opposed to a chrome one? If it does, I had one of these and I think I've got some main jets for it somewhere. However,...

Re: keihin jets

Those "N" reference numbers are possibly Keihin factory numbers. I think that only the main importers, Allens, tend to use them. I have a v2 Mugello with a proper PM expansion and a bgm copy PWK28. I've seen needles from ScootRS with no markings in the past but I've never seen a Keihin pil...

Re: Advice on minor nip up.

..........., but I suppose if its done wrong you could do damage.... Yeah, I think that's the issue, this sort of information is useful to people who know exactly what they're doing______I just don't want your average rally going scooterist to think that subjecting all pistons to files, wet n dry, ...

Dave Webster used this tune and it certainly worked for him.
I'd suggest he probably did in the middle of a race meet when he'd just had a seize and didn't have a spare piston___________I doubt he'd recommend it as a best practice for sorting out this piston, on a road going scoot :D

Re: Jetting a PWK 30mm carb on a Mugello 225

............Is there a huge difference in jetting with an air filter and without? Yes, if you're going to run a filter, you need to jet it with the filter on. As you've no doubt discovered, performance varies a lot between no filter, and filter. I haven't tried one of the filters you link to, but t...

Re: Jetting a PWK 30mm carb on a Mugello 225

If you compare the bgm needle with your JJH I reckon they'll be nearly the same, if not exactly the same. I think your way too rich on the needle. I'd keep the JJH in for the time being but change it to 2nd clip from top. Pilot, leave at 40, but if the starting from cold is not brilliant, maybe go u...

Re: Race paint lettering

Thanks for that link. Some very nice work on show on their site. A pity they're over 200 miles away from me.

Probably a good job though____I have to remember that I just wanted a bit of a spruce up, not a full custom paint job :)

Race paint lettering

Thinking of getting a quote from a local custom bike shop to spruce up the paintwork on one of my scoots. This will involve some pearl white and gold metalflake over the already sapphire blue panels and legshields. Anyway, before I go and see them, just wondering whether any of you lads who've had r...
